Happy New Year 2025

Here we go again. My once-weekly (or more) posts on Drive to Five are now taking place once per year, but I keep the domain active just for the sake of archival and preservation. This website was home to trip journals representing roughly a decade of my life, after all! 2024 was a great year for me, and I hope it was for you as well.

My YouTube channel (where I do post once a week or more) saw almost half a million views, with 30,000 hours of watch time and a 1,600-subscriber increase.

I am still a key contributor to “The Journal” on ClassicCars.com, and you can read my stories there a couple of times a week. Here is a link to all of my stories on the site.

89 guests signed my guest book at the house/garage this year. I drove 22,792 miles.

Automotive collection-wise, 10 of my vehicles stayed consistent year-over-year. I bought and sold three vehicles, finished and sold one, and acquired two new ones. It’s a revolving door around here.

There’s a lot to look forward to in 2025. It will be the year I finally plan to cross the 600,000-mile mark with my top-mileage car (for which I started this very blog back in 2011).

Sending all the best to you and yours this season! Thanks for the support and friendship.

Love how I still get notified when you publish your end of year post. Always a good read and reminder I need to drive more.

    • Haha, yes! According to my dashboard, there are still over 200 people who still receive email announcements when I post something new. We’ll see how many of them actually come comment. Looking forward to seeing you next year!

What a coincidence. I was just visiting the blog earlier this morning looking for your post when I first met you.

Turns out April will be 10 years!

    …where has the time gone!?

    Glad you haven’t abandoned it.

  3. It definitely makes me glad to see Drive to Five still getting some updates, even if it’s only once a year!

The collection looks awesome – when did you get the “Kick and Go”?

  4. Thanks for the update, Tyson! I’ve followed your blog since 2014. Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures in 2025!

  5. That’s nice growth on your YT channel. You put a lot of work into it and it is well deserved. I need to look at some dates on the calendar for next year and see if there’s a good weekend to target for me to come see your collection and finally meet. I’ll get with you offline to see if there’s a good time that works for you.

  6. Ahhh…. seeing this blog of your manifest takes me back a few years to when I was trying to maintain a blog of my own about running. It takes time and commitment, and I know no one more capable than you. As grandpa would say, “This is good stuff!” See you in two!

Happy New Year! So nice to see a post on this site. I’m noticing upkeep costs seem high this past year, even for the trusty ILX! I hope you win the lotto in 2025 to help offset 🙂

    • Yes! Lots of deferred maintenance: Replace radiator, upper and lower radiator hoses, fill and bleed cooling system, replace thermostat, replace water pump, perform manual transmission service, perform brake system flush, recharge A/C system, perform valve adjustment, replace spark plugs, replace hood stay grommet
