Quick Tease: 2016 Acura NSX at Detroit Auto Show
My, oh my, it’s been a star-studded day out here in Motor City. I’ll need a little time to wrap my mind around all 154 pictures that I took today during my first day at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), but I would be selfish if I kept them all to myself any longer than I already have. Specifically, I want to share with you just a few images of the newly-revealed Acura NSX.
Acura’s “halo” supercar debuted today after a 3-year development process that started when the concept model first saw the public eye in 2012. When the twin-turbo V6 rolled out onto the show floor today in front of hundreds of journalists, it left most of us stunned. And when they revved the car’s engine, it sent shivers down my spine. This was the performance car so many of us have been waiting for. I’ll share my experience at NAIAS in greater detail soon, but here are a few teasers.

Early arrival for a second-row seat for the 11:50 a.m. press conference. With me in attendance were none other than Sofyan Bey, Editor-in-Chief for Redline Reviews, and Hondapro Jason. Like I said, I was surrounded by celebrities today.
This gorgeous car made its entrance amid music that had our hearts pumping.
Ted Klaus, Large Project Leader, discusses some of the NSX highlights.
Vantage point from my seat. Does that guy at left look familiar to anyone?
He should. That’s Jerry Seinfeld! How’s this for a #seinfeldselfie?
And the crowd goes wild!
Finally was able to squeeze my way in for a quick pic!
And here’s one without me blocking the nice view!
Full 35-minute press conference on Acura’s YouTube channel. Watch for me in the background at about 26:20. Haha.
Much, much more to come in the days ahead as I get my act together and start posting. I’m just having too much fun!
Adios from Detroit.

Very cool day Tyson! Can’t wait for the rest of the story!

Thanks Dave! It’s been a crazy couple of days. I’m going to be on an “Acura high” for awhile yet. Going back to work tomorrow is really going to suck. Haha

Looking forward to all your pictures Ty!
Nice to see the NSX finally going public
January 13, 2015 at 1:24 pm
Agreed! It’s about time 🙂

Nice pictures, I wish the platform wasn’t hybrid, but maybe the electric motors will works. I was really impressed with the Ford GT Concept.
January 13, 2015 at 1:25 pm
Hybrid is the way of the future! Yeah the Ford GT is awesome! I’ll be posting pics of that soon.
January 13, 2015 at 11:47 am
*meant to say will work (Typo)
January 13, 2015 at 5:29 pm
Yeah, I won’t touch a hybrid due to the battery issues (which is comparable to getting a transmission or an engine rebuild).
January 13, 2015 at 7:23 pm
That NSX is absolutely GORGEOUS! I got chills just through the pictures! I’d probably explode if I saw it in person!
January 14, 2015 at 2:19 am
Haha, we don’t want you exploding! Yeah it’s a great design and has an even better in-person presence. I can’t wait to actually see one on the ROAD 🙂

Sweet stuff! You think this will make it Phoenix for media use? haha BTW, the video won’t work, says something about it being private.
January 14, 2015 at 9:26 pm
Thanks for the heads up – yeah it looks like they’ve changed the video link since the initial day. I’ll update the post. Crossing fingers that an NSX will make its way to the PHX press fleet someday 🙂

Tyson,
Looks like you guys had an absolute blast there in Detroit! Thank you for sharing the details on the NSX with us. It’s been a long wait but looks like well worth it. Even though there’s a missing third pedal. I can’t believe you met Jerry Seinfeld! Way to go! I really need to meet this HondaPro Jason someday. 🙂
January 17, 2015 at 7:44 am
I hope to be there when you meet the “other” Jason! The Honda-loving energy in the room might just be too much!
